Jade Shadows: Constellations

What a time to experience some really interesting lore in Jade Shadows: Constellations!  The Stalker's story picks up with Sirius and Orion, and it is quite an emotional rollercoaster.  Let's get to it.

There's a bunch of new stuff that came with this update: the Jade Shadows: Constellations quest, the 65th Warframe Sirius & Orion, two new Railjack missions over on the Uranus Proxima, and a new hub called Pontis Tower.  First thing to do is make sure you have completed Jade Shadows, because the choice you made there carries over.  The quest takes around 30 - 40 minutes, and you can't touch other Warframe content until it's done, so plan accordingly.

Once you've completed the quest, you will be rewarded with the Sirius & Orion blueprint, Sirius' and Orion's Swaddle Syandanas, three displays (Orion Alone, Sirius Alone, and Stay Together), and a quest-specific Honoria.

Completing the quest unlocks the Uranus Proxima, and with it two new Railjack missions.  You are given a choice in which ship (and currency earned) to run for the mission.  In The Kuva Wytch you aid Ryoku against Vena, and in Scoria's Angel you aid Vena against Ryoku.  Ryoku and Vena are the new Protoframes for Ash and Garuda.  Each mission is a Railjack skirmish and an assassination rolled into one, and like other missions tied to story quests, you'll be doing them a lot.

Pontis Tower on Uranus - right hand side

In a squad, you fly Vena's Railjack (The Marrowbone) or Ryoku's (Santovan's Oath), both fully loaded with every Rank 10 Intrinsic perk unlocked.  If you'd rather use your own Railjack and crew, set matchmaking to Solo, head to Pontis Tower, and choose "Board Personal Railjack (Solo)" at the boarding console.  Archwing is disabled in these missions, and so is bailing out of the ship.  Each enemy capital ship also hides a secret room, and we'll go hunting for them in a bit.

NOTE:  Railjack now has Steel Path!  Once you have Steel Path unlocked and have beaten a Railjack mission on the normal path, a Steel Path option appears for it.  Expect tougher enemies, plus Eximus units that can drop Steel Essence.  Finally!

NOTE:  Don't sleep on the minigame between ship to ship.  If you shoot down the targets, you can be rewarded with various resources, Railjack Components, credits, either Talent, or even Endo.

The Railjack missions have a new currency: Crimson Talents (Scoria's Angel) and Emerald Talents (The Kuva Wytch).  You spend them in Pontis Tower, which is also where you can change your Jade Shadows choice and which son is your Primary.  I honestly didn't remember any of this until I was given the choice.  Spoiler heads-up: the vendor here is Hunhow.  Either Talent buys the Sirius & Orion blueprints, so you only need to run the mission you like best.

Hunhow's Wares

Hunhow's wares include Hunhow's Trinket (it costs 12 Crimson and 12 Emerald Talents, and you build it in the Foundry to get War Prime), the four new Arcanes (Arcane Sculptor, Primary Compression, Secondary Cryogenic, and Melee Assimilation), and Elite Railjack crew: Vena, Ryoku, Latrox Une, and Jarka Lar (you need Command Intrinsic rank 10).  He also sells Ephemeras, Domestik Drones, weapon skins, posters, Somachord tracks, Captura scenes, and Honoria.

Sirius & Orion Warframe

To build Sirius & Orion, you will need:

  • 25,000 Credits
  • 3 Orokin Cells
  • 1 built Neuroptics, 1 built Chassis, and 1 built Systems

The Neuroptics need:

  • 15,000 Credits
  • 250 Circuits
  • 5 Gallium
  • 5 Nullstones
  • 75 Asterite

The Chassis needs:

  • 15,000 Credits
  • 600 Rubedo
  • 400 Alloy Plate
  • 600 Carbides
  • 500 Ticor Plate

The Systems need:

  • 15,000 Credits
  • 500 Polymer Bundle
  • 30 Morphics
  • 20 Control Modules
  • 100 Isos

You get the main blueprint from the quest, and the component blueprints come from the Railjack missions or Hunhow.

Pride and Wrath, the two new Heavy Scythes, come from these missions too.  Pride comes from The Kuva Wytch mission, where you run with Ryoku to attack Vena.  Wrath comes from the Scoria's Angel mission, where you are running with Vena to attack Ryoku.  Doing these missions also awards the related Talents, so running with Ryoku gives Emerald Talents while running with Vena gives Crimson Talents.  If RNG isn't on your side, you can simply buy the blueprints with those earned Talents: Emerald for Pride and Crimson for Wrath.

To build War Prime, you will need:

  • Hunhow's Trinket blueprint (12 Crimson Talents and 12 Emerald Talents)
  • 15,000 Credits
  • 1 Orokin Cell
  • 1 Argon Crystal
  • 5 Nitain Extract

NOTE:  Since it takes both kinds of Talents, you'll need to run both The Kuva Wytch and Scoria's Angel to afford it.

Sirius & Orion are two Warframes in one, so there's a few things to mention here. Your loadout, Archon Shards, and Mastery are shared, but builds, Arcanes, and polarities are separate for each brother, so you'll be modding both.  Helminth abilities can only be infused on your Primary Son.

NOTE: Sirius & Orion weren't in Teshin's Cave at launch, but Update 44 added them.  If you were waiting for that patch to hit, it's finally here.

Fashion-frame is a thing in this game, and this update did not disappoint.  There are some hidden cosmetics that are easy to miss, so let's go hunting.

Vena's ship (The Kuva Wytch) holdes the Karotic Signa, and you will need some quick thinking to get through the door.  On the flip side, Ryoku's ship (Scoria's Angel) holds the Kyzen Signa, and you will need a keen eye to spot what opens that door.

Karotic Signa | Kyzen Signa

NOTE:  You only unlock each Signa once.  You can keep raiding the rooms, but you'll get a Crewman's Boot instead, so it's not worth repeating after that.

Let's start with Karotic Signa, which is found on Vena's ship.  Please note that in order to get this one, you actually need to start the mission while working aboard Ryoku's ship.  I had this backwards and was very confused when I landed on the ship and wasn't prepared for locating the other one.

Karotic Signa on Vena's ship

You don't need to do these in order, nor does it have to be a solo person activity.  Some notes on locations:

  1. Fairly easy to spot along the short side of a wall near the starting area.
  2. This is found inside a small room, immediately next to the doorway, so once you enter, turn around and you'll see it.
  3. This one is underneath that ledge in the back of the room.  Drop down and look around a small offshoot of the room.
  4. In this room, you are going down a ramp.  Simply go to the left and look beneath the ramp.  You'll see the panel.
  5. This is found in the room that has the door you are trying to unlock.  Enter, look at the left, interact, then approach the door.

If you were fast enough (roughly 35 or 40 seconds to get all consoles), the door will open when you approach.  Simply go down the ramp and you'll come to a room where a SECRET box is on a table.  If you run out of time, you can simply go back and start again.  The puzzle doesn't punish you for a one-time-chance.

Look for the glowing box on a table

Next up is the Kyzen Signa, which is found on Ryoku's ship.  Much like the other one, you need to start the mission on the opposite party's ship.

Green holographic things

You will be needing to shoot a total of 7 of these green holographic things along the way towards the final boss fight room.

Kyzen Signa on Ryoku's ship

Same as the other signa, you don't need to do this one solo but I'm not sure on doing them in order with another party member.  When I ran through this with a friend, they were shooting ones I had already hit and it didn't change anything.  A note for these: they kind of stand out once you know what you are looking for.  They are not always on the ground, because the 4th one is actually hanging from the ceiling.  Just keep your eyes open and you'll get it.  Just as with the other signa, if you miss one or run out of time (I didn't test the timing mechanism here but I did miss 1), you can start over inside the same mission.  You won't be penalized for it.

Hunhow has plenty of style for your Warframes and residence, too.  There are ephemeras, drones, skins, syandana, posters, and scenes to pick from.

You also earn Sirius' and Orion's Swaddle Syandanas from the quest, and with both of them you can buy Jade's Victory Syandana from Hunhow.

NOTE:  The Swaddle Syandanas aren't used up when you craft it.

If you'd rather dress up as the Protoframes themselves, the Market has Gemini Skins for Ash (Ryoku) and Garuda (Vena), each with a Gemini Emote that swaps between the Warframe and Protoframe looks, even in a mission.  There's also a Razor's Edge Salon Pack with Ryoku's and Vena's hairstyles for your Operator and Drifter.

A few other goodies came along with this update:

  • New Incarnon Geneses for the Obex, Stug, Vectis, Ballistica, and Destreza.  Earn them in the Steel Path Circuit, then have Cavalero install them in the Chrysalith.
  • Four new Warframe Augments.
